Canaille is one of my favorite restaurants and the owners, Philippe and Marie, are such lovely, welcoming people that I always feel that I am at the home of favorite freiends (if my friends coooked like angels!)

Canaille is a cozy, simple, authentic bistro with the usual but excellently executed fare. The owner has always been increedibly gregarious and friendly when we`ve eaten there and very helpful and passionate about his great wine list.

The latest "vest-pocket bistro" to pop up on Park Slope`s burgeoning Fifth Avenue Restaurant Row, this "small place with a big heart" offers moderatly priced Gallic grub in "quaint" environs; so long as you don`t mind the "chatty" owner,it`s a "welcome" addition to the area.

Please do yourself a favor and visit Canaille for Sunday brunch. One of my friends said she had dinner here once or twice and it was very good. I can`t wait to try it.
